Ministries

There are many ways that God works in and through the Fredericksburg church on a daily, informal, and relational basis. There are also several regular ministries established to serve Fredericksburg and Gillispie County, Texas.

Bible Teaching | As a spiritual body of Christ-followers, we believe that the first priority for us is to represent Jesus and the Bible truthfully and lovingly, holding out the word of life to anyone and everyone who would hear it. Our classes and teaching assemblies are open to everyone, always free of charge.

Special Events | Recently the Fredericksburg church has reprioritized our service to the community and our neighbors, including a desire to host community events. In 2019 we hosted a spiritual music concert (April), Easter Picnic and Egg Hunt (April), a Jail/Prison Ministry Seminar (May), a community youth service day (October), Trunk or Treat (October), and a FriendsDay (November) with a complimentary, catered meal.

Care and Share (Benevolence) | Everyone needs a helping hand and there's no shame in asking for help. It's our privilege to walk alongside many of our neighbors to provide a hand up - not a handout - to get back on sure footing. All assistance given is on a case-by-case basis and requires a visit to our office.

Connections (Audio / Visual) | In the post-COVID era, we feel the necessity to use technology to broadcast and live-stream our classes, assemblies, and events. All of this relies heavily on technology.

LifeTouch | The Fredericksburg Church of Christ partners with Hill Country Daily Bread (Boerne) to provide food, mentoring, and emotional and spiritual support to eight families in the Fredericksburg area.

Pastoral Counseling | Pastoral counseling is sitting down together at the feet of the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Unique from clinical or psychiatric counseling, pastoral counseling is like visiting with a friend who is going to tell us the truth in biblical wisdom, rather than telling just what we want to hear. Both of our ministers have experience walking with people through various stages of life and want to point people back to Jesus - they would be very willing to visit with you.

Widows/Widowers | Church is a second family that often grows closer than one's biological family. In the case of our widows and widowers, the church has a special obligation to look after them and their needs. They have spent their lives caring for others; it's our turn to care for them.

Women's Ministry | The backbone of any society is its women. There is a high call upon women to be active in service and ministry. The women of the Fredericksburg church meet Wednesday mornings (during the school year) for Ladies Bible Class where they mobilize for various assignments, including feeding the bereaved, mailing cards, prayers, special projects for orphans and needy, and preparing for special events.
