Johnny Hutcherson, Custodian
Johnny was born in Central Texas, but moved to the High Plains of the Texas Panhandle, where he attended Dumas High School.
In 1966 he married Theresa and over the years, their family grew to include four children and ten grandchildren.
In 1967 Johnny was drafted into the United States Army and served on a “Huey” helicopter in the Vietnam War. After his active duty service, he began a career as a mechanic, flight inspector, and foreman for Bell Helicopter, the Department of Defense, and finally Sikorsky Helicopter of Stratford, Connecticut. It was while in Connecticut that Johnny was baptized into Jesus at the Ward Street Church of Christ.
Johnny and Theresa have made their home in Fredericksburg since 2009 where they now live with their granddaughter, Carleigh.
Johnny reflects, “When one is humble, he puts others’ needs before his own, acknowledging that he is not always right. I believe that life is not about me and what I do; it’s about others.”
