Tommy was born and raised in Garland, Texas. He received a bachelor’s degree in Bible from Abilene Christian University in 1987 and a master’s degree in Religious Education in 1989. Upon graduation Tommy went to work for the Buckingham Road church of Christ in Garland, TX where he served as youth minister for 6 years. Tommy has also worked with the Highland church of Christ in Abilene, the Merkel church of Christ in Merkel, TX, the Waterview church of Christ in Richardson, TX, and the Chandler St. church of Christ in Kilgore, TX. In December of 1995 Tommy came to work with the church in Fredericksburg.
Tommy married Christina Louise (Grimm) in 1991. They have a daughter named Courtney and a son named Cameron.
The membership of the church in Fredericksburg currently stands at about 180. The congregation is led by four elders and seven deacons.
